Chapter 18 of the AMA Guides provides for additional "discretionary" impairment when "pain" increases the burden of illness. Part 1 of this 2 video series discusses the proper use of Chapter 18 in assessing whether, or whether NOT your examinee qualifies for additional Impairment due to "pain. 

 This video reviews key concepts from Chapter 18 of the AMA Guides 5th Edition on the provision of additional "discretionary" impairment due to the added burden of "pain." This is the first in a 2 part series and this video focuses on the "Pain Behaviors" that are described in Table 18-5 (as well as other Pain Behaviors not discussed in the AMA Guides).
