Combating Bias in the MedLegal Evaluation 3

 Is there evidence of bias in your opinions and conclusions within your QME Report?  Of course there is!  Research suggests that your opinions with favor those whom you consider to be in your "in-group."  Simultaneously, your opinions will punish or burden those whom you consider to be in your "out-group."  Who are these groups and how do they impact your provision of workers compensation benefits?   

 In the California Workers Compensation System, bias is everywhere and every player and party has pre-concieved stereotypes regarding each of the other parties.  Our implicit or "unconscious" biases shape our opinions and conclusions to either favor, or burden the injured worker.
